POLINI ITALIAN CUP - LML TROPHY

Alessandro Giacometti, who was leader in Viterbo, slipped at the end of both the races. The victory went to Filippo Giorgini, first and third and behind his back Michele Lettieri and Pasquale Rivetti. Good race for the LML’s Manager, Tommaso Valentino, able to be at the first places at the beginning of the race but who then left space to the protagonists of the Trophy.

Riding safety in wet weather

The Scooterist  | Living in Saigon, it doesn't matter if you ride daily or once a week, at some point you're going to get caught in the rain. Like this vespa rider, he got accident when riding in the night rain. Luckily, he still fine but his vespa handlebar was broken.

Modern Lambretta in Vietnam

Linh Nga, the dancer, change her styles with a modern Lambretta in the early winter in Hanoi.

Traffic in Frenetic HCMC, Vietnam

"Everyone who has visited Ho Chi Minh City,
Vietnam knows part of the magic (love it or hate it) is in the traffic.
Ever since I first set foot in HCMC I have been captivated by the
cities energy. Saigon is a city on the move unlike anything I have
experienced before which I wanted to capture and share."

Amazing Saigon, people. :D Life in Saigon looks better on Vespa, come and enjoy with us.

How to make a Filipina Vespa Pin-up Girl

The Scooterist | Find our on Abet's blog, my Filipino vespa rider.

"In the 50s or 60s, Vespa released pin up calendars with images of women in different parts of the world. I have seen a number of scoots with pinup-girls stuck on the legshield or the glovebox cover.
The thumbnails below are just but a few examples.  But the one in the middle (the Filipina farm girl with the Mayon Volcano as backdrop) “my” rendition of a Pinay Vespa Pin-Up.  Since I got zero talent in drawing, I relied on a Filipino master (National Artist, Fernando Amorsolo) for inspiration and creativity.

Old-time Saigon with Scooter

The Scooterist | When i ride vespa around Saigon, i meet some old people who are so interested with my vespa. They said when they were young like me, they had one. At that time, Scooter (Vespa and Lambretta) was the main vehicle in Saigon. Everyone had it, everyone rode it. I'm so surprise to hear that the money they had bought Vespa or Lambretta scooters, now they can buy a house. It looks like Vespa (Lambretta) was made for rich people.
Here's some pictures in old-time Saigon, most beautiful pictures ever

Vespa Super

General information

The Vespa Super was successor to the venerable Vespa 125 and 150 VNA/VBB. It had a similar layout, but had updated styling that matched the other contemporaneous largeframe Vespas. While the largeframe Vespas with 10" wheels had evolved over time in their styling and design, the 8" wheeled models had soldiered on through to the mid-60's with only very minor changes from the 50's. Their gentle curves began to seem out of step with the times, and the rest of the Vespa lineup, which had by then sported a more angular look. Piaggio totally redesigned the look of the most basic of the largframes with the introduction of the Super.

Come September giá trị một siêu phẩm điện ảnh lãng mạn

Vespa Club Women

Another great photo from the past.  This one is of what appears to be a Vespa club event in the early 50's.  I'm not really sure what is going on here, but it is notable that all of the riders are women.  At first I thought it was part of a parade of some kind, but then noting the number on the scooter's legshields leads me to think that this is part of some competition.  I don't have any idea, but the whole scene just looks super cool.  Note the big American cars and the jeep parked on the left side of the picture.
There is no Vespa club like this in Viet Nam.

70's Mods

It is hard to tell when this photo was taken.  I'm guessing it was during the first mod revival in the late 70's. The big tell is in the far left of the picture, the distinctive outline of a white P-series Vespa. That at least dates the photo to post-77. Clothing, hair styles, and helmets look more 70's than 90's mod.

Lambretta club of the month

A new feature this, where I highlight a Lambretta owners club from around the world. To kick us off, I go to the spiritual home of the Lambretta, Italy. Liguria in fact, the coastal region of north west Italy famous for it’s beautiful beaches, and picturesque little towns, and (altthough I must say most of Italy is famous for this) it’s great food.

Wet Wet Wet (by ITALIAN MOTOR magazine)

I should have realised that the fact that the local radio station on the small island just off the Spanish coast we were 'holidaying' on kept playing that annoying "I feel it in my fingers" song by drab Scots popsters Wet Wet Wet held some more sinister significance when after two days the sun turned to cloud, and a few days after that, the cloud gave over to torrential rain. So on my return from a frankly mostly miserable and wet 12 days on Menorca to frankly an even more wet and miserable Great Britain, we're feeling all rained out.

Vespa Rally, 24 - 25 September 2011 (SaiGon - VungTau) - Day 1
