Wedding in Vũng Tàu beach

Last weekend, me and Hội Xe Pan (Club of Vespa alway have problems) went to Vũng Tàu beach, join the wedding of an old mechanic's daughter here. A lot of vespa riders from many province near Vũng Tàu beach had come.
Sài Gòn to Vũng Tàu is short, nearly 120km, but when you had problem with your bike, the street look longer. We had rode in a heavy rain, cold but cool, not much motorbikes on street, so no worries, just ride.
Here some pics from that trip:

Me and my vespa in a trip to Vung Tau beach, June 9, 2012

It is June 2012, 2 years i fall in love with Vespa. I bought my first Vespa in June 2010. The more i got problem with my vespa, the more i know it clearly, more confidence to ride. Now i can go to everywhere i want with it.

My life changed after i buy my vespa. I meet a lot of friends, have same passion. I shoot pictures. Trying to enrich my English skills (not good now). Discovering my beautiful country, Vietnam... I know a lot of vespa riders in the world hating Vietnam beacause they had bought a bad scooter in VN. Yup, it is true. I know them, i know a street only made vespa for export, because we all know it's bad, we dont buy.
I wonder: why you guys still buy vespa from here after a lot of Warning? Why did you buy a scooter without frame and engine number? And one sentence i want to talk with you: Don't ever buy a scooter from here, if you cant see, touch and ride to check.

But we have a different world, we still have good scooters, still have good mechanics, and a lot of friendly scooterists here, like me. You are all welcome here, bros!

Special thanks to my friends, who supported me very much:

Riding to Cao Minh island (P2)

As i can see, we (i mean Vietnamese rider) often take a lot of pictures in a trip. That's why i have many parts of one trip. :D
You can see part 1 here: http://www.thescooterist.com/2012/05/riding-to-cao-minh-island-p1.html
After having lunch, we left to Cao Minh island. The road is very beautiful but too short for me. All i want is ride, ride, and ride. Unlucky, we catched the rain at night in the island and we couldn't camp outside.

Vespa GS in Viet Nam

The Scooterist - After 2 years falling in love with Vespa, i know that which vespa models is the best choise for scooterists. One of these is Vespa GS, which is very beautiful, strong, and expensive price. Nowaday, Vespa GS is very rare in Vietnam, some Vespa GS i know is belong to many famous vespa collectors in Vietnam. So sad that some GS vespas is exported to EU, America... from Vietnam because of its price. It's too expensive for Vietnamese.
Warning: Becareful when you want to buy a scooter from Vietnam. You should check the seller clearly before paying.
Here is some pictures of a GS which i luckily catch, restored in the same workshop i often visit at weekend.

DBM Lauf Pfingstrun Stockach 2012

The Vespa family: Great Britain – Douglas

Licensed produciton of the Vespa in Great Britain began in 1951 at the Douglas works in Kingwood, near Bristol. Two engine displacement were again offered, 125 and 150 cc with the last also available in GS form. Production ceased in 1957, with a total of 126,000 examples having been sold. While it was not as economical a machine as it was in Italy, the British Vespa enjoyed a degree of success and was widely used by the police forces.
