Bike Stop Cycling

Bike Stop Cycling is a family-run Michigan City bicycle shop offering electric bikes and a workshop for ongoing maintenance. The store keeps bikes, locks, and racks in stock, with free private parking and wheelchair-accessible aisles. The shop has declined to service self-built e-bikes it did not assemble.

The full-service repair bay handles drivetrain work, flat fixes, and regular servicing, with staff answering compatibility questions before a bike is dropped off. Owner Todd doubles as a BICP Level 2 mountain bike instructor and offers private riding lessons covering cornering, drops, and foundational skills. Mechanic Jacob is known among riders for honest assessments — taking on a mountain bike another shop had declared not worth fixing, helping families size children's bikes, and setting up hitch racks.

Listed hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. The phone number is (219) 872-9228 and details appear at bikestopcycling.com.
