Bob's Bikes

Bob's Bikes has been part of Homewood's cycling scene since 1974, combining the familiarity of a long-running independent shop with a growing range of electric bicycles. Its selection covers children's bikes, traditional riding styles, and e-bikes from brands including Giant, Momentum, and X-LAB. The emphasis is on finding the right bike and keeping it performing well afterward.

The workshop has handled everything from routine maintenance to detailed attention on electric systems. One customer's noisy demo e-bike became noticeably quieter after a thorough service and chain treatment. Staff have also gone to unusual lengths to solve problems: Nick arranged access to a replacement battery before a customer's trip, while owner Roger quickly untangled an online ordering issue.

Those examples reflect the personalized help people often hope to find in an established local shop. Alongside bicycles, Bob's carries parts and accessories and supports owners who are moving from conventional cycling into electric assist. Its 18th Street South location gives Homewood riders a place to ask questions, maintain an older favorite, or explore a new way to ride.
