Builer's Cycle & Fitness

Builer's Cycle & Fitness is a third-generation, family-owned shop at 215 S 3rd Avenue in Wausau, founded in 1926 and serving central Wisconsin from the city's west river district. The business sells bicycles from brands including Cannondale, Giant, Fuji, and Haro, along with Denago electric bikes, and its service department handles repairs, maintenance, and part replacements on all makes and models.

Beyond bicycles, the store carries fitness equipment from makers such as Spirit and True, plus cross-country skis, snowshoes, and winter rentals, with ski waxing available in season. Owner Tom Builer is the third-generation operator. The shop performs prompt repair work at fair prices, covering rim straightening, new tires, grips, and drivetrain adjustments completed for less than the cost of a new bike.

Staff are informative and courteous, and the owner-manager takes time to explain repair options even on a busy Saturday. The store also hosts events such as waxing clinics with the Wausau Nordic Ski Club.
