Central Wheel Bicycle Shop

Central Wheel Bicycle Shop has a remarkable history in Farmington, Connecticut, tracing its local cycling service back to 1935. Located on Farmington Avenue near the West Hartford Reservoir and UConn Medical Center, the family-run business provides bicycle sales, fitting, and repairs. Cannondale is among its represented brands, with electric bicycles included in the shop's range.

The repair bench has earned attention for taking on challenging work. One owner of a fat-tire e-bike found help with a rear flat after other shops declined the job. Longtime customers also speak of dependable service, while a tandem-bike fitting by Lee drew a rider willing to travel a considerable distance. New owner Jeff Gelt continues the operation with familiar staff members such as Jay still involved in the business.

For someone maintaining an older bicycle or learning the requirements of an e-bike, Central Wheel brings decades of workshop experience to the conversation. Its approach connects careful mechanical work with individual fit and ongoing customer relationships. The shop remains a local cycling resource for riders across Farmington and nearby communities, with a service tradition that extends well beyond simply selling a bicycle from the showroom.
