Cobble Classic (formerly Putnam Cyclery)

Cobble Classic, previously Putnam Cyclery, serves Putnam riders with electric bicycles and a full mechanical bike shop. The retail location sells new and used bicycles from 12-inch kids' bikes through adult road, mountain, gravel, and electric models, with brands that have included Trek, Giant, Bianchi, and Electra, and it operates a kids' bike trade-up program.

Its workshop handles tune-ups, brake work, wheel truing, tubeless tire installation, and general mechanical repairs, staffed by trained mechanics who also offer professional bicycle fitting aimed at comfort and riding efficiency. The business stocks accessories, components, shoes, and helmets, and hosts a weekly Tuesday-evening group ride during riding season. Its own profile notes a CT Magazine reader recognition.

Staff are frequently described in written feedback as knowledgeable and unhurried, walking first-time buyers through sizing and options without sales pressure, and visitors from out of town note receiving same-day help with mid-ride mechanical problems. The combination of cycling merchandise and a repair bench gives riders a place to ask about setup, ongoing adjustments and seasonal riding needs.
