Hyland Family Bicycles

Hyland Family Bicycles has been part of San Jose cycling since 1963, bringing generations of experience to its Meridian Avenue shop. Still family owned, the business offers a broad bicycle selection and a repair department that works on bikes from many manufacturers, not only those sold in its showroom.

The product range includes road, mountain, children's, and electric bicycles from names such as Trek, Giant, Liv, Santa Cruz, Electra, and Aventon. The shop's Aventon inventory gives riders an opportunity to explore e-bike ownership with local support. Customers also appreciate having a mechanic nearby for routine maintenance, brake adjustments, and issues that appear unexpectedly.

One traveler received help with a brake problem the same day while passing through San Jose, while another e-bike buyer valued continued maintenance after the purchase. Sales staff have been praised for patiently walking customers through choices rather than pushing the most expensive bike. That combination of a varied inventory and familiar repair staff helps explain the store's longevity. Hyland remains a useful destination for both first-time buyers and riders with years of experience.
