Over The Edge Sports

Over The Edge Sports is a Fruita mountain-bike shop that also provides support for electric-assist bicycles. New bike sales come with proper setup and fit, and the rental fleet is kept in solid working order. The shop's own site lists ten-to-six Monday through Saturday and ten-to-five Sunday. For the Grand Valley's mountain bike crowd, it is the hometown shop with three decades in the dirt.

Visitors describe staff as friendly and refreshingly non-pushy, happy to talk trail conditions and route beta whether or not a sale follows. The service department turns bikes around quickly, getting a broken bike back on the trail the same day when possible, and the shop's longevity means the mechanics have seen every failure mode the desert can produce.

The shop sells and services mountain, road, and electric bikes -- its website's electric lineup includes models like the Pivot Shuttle LT -- and rentals put visitors on trail-ready bikes within minutes of the 18 Road and Kokopelli trail systems.
