REI - Louisville

REI's Louisville store brings the outdoor co-op's bike-shop services to the Paddock Shops, where it opened its first Kentucky location in 2024. The store combines outdoor clothing and equipment with cycling gear, bicycles, and a full-service workshop. Certified mechanics handle conventional bicycle maintenance as well as tune-ups and service for eligible electric bikes.

The workshop is useful for riders who want bicycle care while visiting a larger outdoor retailer. Maintenance and parts work sit alongside the store's selection of cycling accessories and equipment for hiking, camping, and other activities. REI's co-op model also includes a satisfaction guarantee and the Re/supply program for previously used outdoor gear, giving shoppers another way to approach equipment purchases.

For electric-bike owners in the Louisville area, the service department adds an option beyond stand-alone neighborhood bicycle shops. Customers can combine a workshop appointment with shopping for helmets, clothing, or other cycling needs at the same destination. The location is best understood as an outdoor store with an established bicycle and e-bike service department—not as a dedicated scooter dealer or scooter repair workshop.
