Sports Basement - Almaden (San Jose)

Sports Basement Almaden brings the chain's large-format outdoor-retail concept to San Jose's Almaden Plaza. Opened in 2025 in a renovated space of more than 80,000 square feet, the store has room for cycling, skiing, rentals, fitness equipment, and a broad range of outdoor gear.

The bicycle department provides standard repair services and rentals, with electric bikes also represented through the store's Troxus dealership listing. A dedicated ski shop and other equipment services make the location practical for people who enjoy more than one outdoor activity. Customers have described easy rental pickups, an organized floor, and plenty of space to compare gear without feeling crowded.

Community involvement is also part of the store's identity. Its Basementeer program provides membership discounts while supporting schools and nonprofits, and the location hosts activities such as race-packet pickup and offers meeting space for local groups. Because Almaden is a newer branch, its individual workshop history is still developing compared with older Sports Basement locations. Even so, it brings bicycle service, electric-bike retail, and a wide outdoor selection to one South San Jose destination. ===
