Summit Bicycles - San Jose

Summit Bicycles on Curtner Avenue serves San Jose riders who want a place to purchase an e-bike and keep their bicycles in good working order. The branch combines a retail floor with a service department handling the routine and occasionally complicated jobs that come with regular riding.

Mechanics perform tune-ups, brake repairs, and other maintenance work. One customer praised a conversion from cable-operated to hydraulic brakes that cost considerably less than expected, while long-term patrons describe returning for service across several bicycle purchases. Those experiences suggest a workshop whose value can extend well beyond the day a new bike is bought.

The store also sells electric bicycles, making it relevant to commuters and recreational riders considering pedal assistance. Its southern San Jose location offers a practical drop-off point for residents who prefer local service over mailing parts or transporting their bikes farther away. Some older experiences raised concerns about counter service, but others highlight helpful technicians and quick turnaround. Summit's appeal here is the straightforward connection between bicycle retail, everyday adjustments, and more technical mechanical work.
