Hardt Family Cyclery

Hardt Family Cyclery approaches electric biking from a family perspective. Based on East 25th Avenue in Aurora, this independent shop specializes in cargo and family-oriented bikes that can carry children, groceries, and the everyday things a household needs to move around. Its selection includes European brands such as Urban Arrow, Riese & Müller, and Tern.

There are several ways to carry a family by bike, from front-loading bakfiets to longtail and mid-tail designs. Rather than assuming one style works for everyone, the shop offers hands-on assessments, fittings, and test rides so customers can see how different bikes handle with their passengers and cargo.

Owner MacKenzie Hardt is known for taking time to answer questions, especially for parents weighing safety, comfort, and convenience. The workshop also services electric and conventional bicycles, so customers have somewhere to turn for maintenance once their daily riding routine is underway.

Alongside the cargo models, Hardt carries commuter, folding, and traditional bikes. Its involvement in the local cycling community adds to the family-focused character: the aim is not simply to sell equipment, but to help people make useful bicycle trips part of ordinary life.
