Pedal Power RVA

Pedal Power RVA is an independent Richmond bicycle shop whose story reaches back through several local businesses and storefronts. Owner Randy Bohn entered the trade in 1989, and the present Staples Mill Road location occupies a building with cycling roots stretching to 1912. The Pedal Power name has been in use since 2013, but the shop carries forward a much older tradition of neighborhood bicycle service.

Its inventory includes new and used bicycles, with electric options from brands such as Gazelle and Giant. The workshop handles repairs and routine maintenance, giving customers a reason to return after buying a bike. Riders describe approachable staff, fast mechanical work, and prices they consider reasonable. A customer who purchased a Giant hybrid appreciated the included tune-ups, while others mention informative conversations and the care mechanics took with their bikes.

The store's long connection to Richmond cycling sets it apart from newer specialty retailers. Electric models now share space with conventional bicycles, but service and personal guidance remain central to its identity. Pedal Power RVA offers riders an established local place to shop, discuss a repair, or keep a familiar bicycle in good working order.
