West Bottoms Bicycles

In Kansas City's historic West Bottoms, West Bottoms Bicycles brings an unusually broad cycling selection to a century-old building on West 11th Street. Its spacious shop carries new and used road, gravel, mountain, and electric bikes, with vintage finds mixed among clothing, tools, accessories, and parts. The setting gives the business a character that feels different from a conventional neighborhood bike store.

The workshop handles everyday mechanical needs such as flat tires, derailleur adjustments, tune-ups, and other maintenance. Electric-bike owners also have a place to ask about general mechanical repairs, an area where some traditional bike shops are less willing to help. Customers have described helpful technicians and a practical approach to keeping bikes moving.

Communication is another memorable part of the experience. Text updates can mark when a bike has been dropped off, when work begins, and when it is ready for collection. The store also hosts swap meets, reinforcing its connection to Kansas City's cycling community.

Finding the right component can be as satisfying as finding the right bike here. West Bottoms Bicycles combines an enormous selection with mechanical know-how and community gatherings that keep Kansas City cyclists coming back.
